JCTI Program
Founded in 2004, Just Cause Tennis Inc., is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization that offers tennis programs to youth and seniors.
The tennis programs implements basic tennis building skills, and is designed for the entry level junior player with minimal, or no tennis experience. The tennis coach identifies advance level players and develops them accordingly.
Tennis classes are conducted at the Ira Jinkins (Brookfield) tennis courts in East Oakland. See Schedule
The mission and objective of Just Cause Tennis is to use the game of tennis to promote life enhancement through athletic participation. Using this approach we help youth:
- Improve physical, educational, and life skills necessary to prepare and empower them for leadership in their communities, and success in their personal lives
- Learn the game of tennis well enough to progress to the Oakland Athletic League (OAL) and the many different USTA and none USTA junior programs available for youth. Participants are encouraged to take part in these programs
- Develop communication and job skills
- Practice healthy lifestyles through sound nutrition and physical activity
JCTI's goals are to produce multi-media projects, using both film and print, to promote violence prevention and communicate the benefits of good nutrition and physical fitness, and to increase funding to help with travel expense for youth participating in tennis tournaments.
